Mount Rinjani

Rinjani is an active volcano and it is located on Lombok Island of Nusa Tenggara. This is the second-highest volcano in Indonesia, with elevation, reaches 3.726 meters above sea level with latitude 8º 25' and 116º 28'. Mount Rinjani is one of a favorite place for climbers or nature lovers from Indonesia and abroad to get beautiful landscape surround. Mount Rinjani is part of Indonesia National Park in Nusa Tenggara and it has an area of ​​approximately 41,330 hectares. The area is 76,000 acres from west to the east.

Administratively, the Mount Rinjani is under 3 districts and that are East Lombok, Central Lombok, and West Lombok. In the west part, there is caldera cone Rinjani with the area between 3.500 meters × 4.800 meters, extends towards the east and west part. In Segara Anak caldera, there is a breadth of 11 million square meters with a depth of 230 meters. Water flows into the lake and forming very beautiful waterfall and charming, flowing through steep ravine.

In Segara Anak abundant fish and it is often used by local people for fishing. With the blue color of water, they will be like kid ocean lakes and that’s why it called Segara Anak. In the southern part is the lake of Segara Anakan there is new caldera of the mountain has sized crater 170 meters × 200 meters, with the height of 2296 meters above the sea.

The mountain had the last erupted in the year of 2004 and right now is inactive normal and there are more visitors do adventures, enjoy the beautiful sunrise and scenery from the hilltop.
