The Camp Leakey in Tanjung Puting National Park lies in Central Kalimantan. The forest where Orangutans live with other wildlife, such as various birds, monkeys, and other animals long nose during expeditionary voyage up the river to Tanjung Puting and Sekonyer.
Tanjung Puting National Park is a beautiful land, inhabited by Orangutans and other creatures. Flora and Fauna is a wealth of ecological and coastal mangrove swamps and forests show that dense. Dipterocarpus towering trees, ironwood trees scattered throughout of Borneo. The Orangutans habitats are found only in Borneo and Sumatra Islands. Along with long nose monkeys and other forest dwellers including; leopard, leaf monkey, pangolin anteater, tiny tarsier, lizards, crocodiles, snakes, and more than 600 bird species are known as cockatoo birds and the horn of bill bird.
Borneo is an active research facility and Camp Leakey welcomes the visitor and will be accompanied by local tour guides. The visitors are not allowed to stay overnight in that land area but in Klotok's boat. The OFI staff asks visitor appropriate permits, check in with rangers. Observe and explore the Orangutan from a safe distance and it is not allowed to disturb the scientist conducting research.
